There seems to be a trend
of declining hope in many aspects of society today. Too many
people are looking for someone else to make things better,
so we're presenting an alternative that historically works
very well - Those of us raised in
the 60's and 70's - the last installment of the baby
boomers, were introduced into a world of perpetual
improvement. Businesses, education and government constantly
strived to bring more value into our lives. By our
experience, they succeeded in surpassing most expectations.
Our community high school and most others that we visited
throughout the country had great bands, nice uniforms for
their athletes, science clubs, language clubs, auto shop,
cooking departments, just about anything and everything to
advance the human mind and spirit - available just for the
asking. But in the 80's something happened
and the value of business customer service, education and
government almost simultaneously began declining. Now it's
come to the point where as a society, we expect service to
get worse - not better. Instead of the sense that things are
getting better, there is a sense that things are getting
worse, more expensive, less obtainable, and that attitude
spells disaster at so many levels. Change always begins with
evaluation and education. Unfortunately we've largely become
a society of witnesses instead of participants. Record
numbers of people are watching instead of doing. Clearly
this is a trend, and as all trends - they come and go and
return over and over in one fashion or another. So as long
as so many are watching, our goal is to provide information
they can watch that will create a call to action - something
provocative, memorable and empowering. Nothing
invites change like a bad attitude
Clearly there are
several topics that we could cover, and it's almost
impossible to prioritize to the satisfaction of everyone. So
we decided to begin with the issues closest to home and
those areas where we've worked before and have a clear
understanding and personal expertise. Self-respect, health
and ingenuity are three very important themes - which is
exactly why Fact Films will begin with these topics. These
films are being produced to help shape better attitudes for
their viewers and from there we hope the ideas spread out
into local communities with the goal of providing more value
for us all. Because in the end,
that's all any of us can ask from an advancing society -
more value. Whatever you want to call it - be it more value,
more bang for the buck - the nature of society is to decline
or advance, because as we all know - they never stand
still. Feature films are a collaborative
effort and they don't happen by themselves. In order to
ensure success, film productions need support. Our films are
no exception, but we would say the big difference is in the
benefit. Certainly we expect our films to be profitable and
that could greatly benefit investors as relatively
low-budget documentaries have been known to turn some
tremendous revenue, but there's also the very tangible and
observable benefit for those viewers whose lives are
affected most. You know our subject matter;
self-respect, health and ingenuity - and now you
understand our goals and directions, a reinvigorated
societal trend aiming for better value. I'm inviting you
to get involved. Join us for what we guarantee will be an
extraordinary journey as collectively, we will offer an
incredible benefit to countless numbers of viewers and it's
almost impossible to put a price on that kind of
value...
